Anyone in the US who is 18 or older can apply to sell on TikTok Shop, and you don’t need followers to open a shop. You do need to verify your identity or business, and TikTok checks that your details match your documents. Here are the requirements, the steps to become a TikTok Shop seller and what to set up before your first sale.
Requirements for US sellers
- At least 18 years old.
- A US resident or a US-registered business, with a US address.
- Individual sellers: a valid US photo ID, such as a passport, driver’s license, state ID or permanent resident card.
- Business sellers: business details and tax information, and TikTok can ask for IRS documents that show your EIN.
- A US bank account for payouts.
- Products allowed on TikTok Shop, with no restricted or prohibited items.
Most delays come from details that don’t match between the form and your documents, so enter your name, address and tax details exactly as they appear on your papers.
How to become a TikTok Shop seller
- Go to TikTok Shop Seller Center and sign up with your email, phone or TikTok account.
- Choose individual or business, and enter your details and documents.
- Add your US warehouse or pickup address and return address.
- Link your bank account for payouts.
- Wait for verification, which usually takes a few business days.
- List your first products, then link your shop to your TikTok account so you can tag products in videos and LIVEs.
