How it works: eBay charges the final value fee on the total amount of the sale, which includes the item price, shipping and sales tax. For most categories that is 13.6% up to $7,500 per item and 2.35% on the part above. The per-order fee is $0.30 for orders of $10 or less and $0.40 for orders over $10. Sales tax is collected by eBay and passed to the state, so it is not part of your payout, but it still counts toward the fee. Figures are estimates: fees vary by category, seller performance and Store subscription, so confirm current rates on eBay. Learn more in our guide to eBay seller fees.
