Walmart's fees are simpler than most marketplaces. There is no monthly subscription and no listing fee. You pay a referral fee when an item sells, and fulfillment fees only if you use Walmart Fulfillment Services. Here is every fee, with examples.
What Walmart doesn't charge
Walmart charges no setup fee, no monthly subscription and no listing fees. You can list as many items as you like and pay only when something sells.
Referral fees by category
Walmart's referral fee is a percentage of the total sale price, including any shipping you charge. Walmart says its rates range from 6% to 15% depending on the category and price, and most categories pay 15%.
6%: personal computers. 8%: consumer electronics, camera and photo, and cell phones. 12%: automotive and powersports. 15%: most other categories, including home, kitchen, toys, pets and tools.
Apparel and accessories: 5% up to $15, 10% from $15 to $20, and 15% above $20.
Beauty: 8% up to $10, then 15%. Grocery: 8% up to $15, then 15%.
Electronics accessories: 15% on the first $100 and 8% on the part above. Watches: 15% on the first $1,500 and 3% on the part above.
How tiered rates work
There are two kinds of tiers. In apparel, beauty and grocery, the price sets one rate for the whole sale: an $18 shirt pays 10%, or $1.80. In electronics accessories and watches, the lower rate applies only to the part above the threshold: a $150 accessory pays 15% on $100 and 8% on $50, for $19 in total.
WFS fees, if Walmart ships for you
With WFS you pay a fulfillment fee per unit based on the item's shipping weight, plus monthly storage. Storage costs $0.75 per cubic foot per month from January to September. From October to December, items stored longer than 30 days pay an extra $1.50 per cubic foot per month.
Since June 30, 2026, inventory stored 366 to 450 days costs $2.25 per cubic foot per month, and more than 450 days costs $7.50. To get cubic feet, multiply length, width and height in inches and divide by 1,728. More in our WFS guide.
Other costs to plan for
Budget for advertising if you run Sponsored Products through Walmart Connect, which you pay per click. Plan for returns, including lost value and return shipping. And if you ship orders yourself, include shipping labels and packaging in every product's cost.
A worked example
Say you sell a $25 kitchen item with free shipping and ship it yourself. The referral fee is 15%, or $3.75, so you keep $21.25 before product cost, shipping and ads. Try your own numbers in our free Walmart profit calculator.

Is the referral fee charged on shipping?
Yes. Walmart calculates the referral fee on the total sale price, which includes any shipping you charge the customer.
